An acclaimed documentary film directed by Raoul Peck (I am not your Negro)
Narrated by Lakeith Stanfield
Winner of the Golden Eye at Cannes 2024!
Tragic, contemplative and brooding, the film follows Ernest Cole, the first Black freelance photographer in Apartheid South Africa, as he documents Apartheid in South Africa, and later, its echoes in New York City and the American South. His photos have been around the world, but he remained in the shadows. In South Africa he was afraid to be arrested, and in the USA to be killed.
