FESTIVAL OF EXCELLENCE IN DRAMATIC ARTS

FEDA Ltd. (Festival Of Excellence In Dramatic Arts) is a one act play festival that provides young creatives (high school students) a space to create and perform original or scripted pieces in front of an audience. The festival has been running for the past 2 decades. The students have complete creative autonomy over their work. After each evening of performances, students are given detailed feedback from industry professionals. At the end of the festival the adjudicators choose 4 (or more) plays to be performed at the finals where an ultimate winner is selected.
On this same evening performers, writers, directors, and other students involved in the productions may be given awards for excellence. It is a space to encourage, inspire and nurture South Africa’s future performers, theatre creators and industry professionals.
