Short Film Writing Course Level 2

The Market Theatre Laboratory and TsaMmu offers a part-time short film writing Course. This course delves into the art and craft of short film screenwriting, with a strong emphasis on the three-act structure. You'll learn to break down stories, analyse films, and develop your own original concepts. Through critical thinking and analysis, you'll refine your storytelling skills and gain a deeper understanding of character development, plot, and theme.
The course culminates in the creation of your own 5-7 minute short film.

This part-time introductory course focuses on writing techniques specifically for short film. There will be 12 3-hour sessions on Saturday afternoons (note: depending on the size of the group, some will take the course on Saturday mornings instead). The course begins on 25 January 2025 – 13 April 2025. Attendance in all sessions is required to successfully complete the course.

Once you have purchased your ticket, please register prior to the start date with the course administrator on one of the following dates: 22, 23 or 24 January between 11h00 – 18h00 at the Market Square Complex.

Please note once you purchase this ticket, there will be no refund. You are rather encouraged to take the course in the next cycle.
