EN ROUTE TO ESPANA! - Tygerberg Childrens Choir & Cape Town Camerata

Two choirs from Cape Town, the acclaimed Tygerberg Children’s Choir (conducted by Karina Erasmus) and Cape Town Camerata (conducted by Leon Starker), will represent South Africa in Tolosa, Spain for the 55th Tolosa Basque Choral Contest. Only 6 Children's choirs and 11 chamber choirs from all over the world are invited to take part. Prescribed works in the Basque language will be performed as well as other works prepared for the competition.

The Camerata's performance will include a Basque piece by Xabier Sarasola, "Neguan Orbela" with text based on a poem by Spanish writer, Mikel Sarriegi, well-known African-American spiritual, "Ride on, King Jesus", various South African traditional isiXhosa and isiZulu works and some TL de Victoria for the Baroque lovers.
