Linked is a dance performance conceptualized and choreographed by both the performers Thulisile Binda and Sbusiso Gumede under the direction of Mzimkhulu Mthimkhulu. This is a multidisciplinary work which explores dance, physical theatre, abstract images and content creation through theatre.
The performers will be using their bodies to explore different images that will be showing the connection of two souls that once met and were separated in a physical form but they stayed linked/connected to each other through the connection of the spirits.
This work promotes the idea of an intense soul connection between two people’s thoughts and existence.
This is based on the premise that one soul can incarnate into two separate bodies. These individuals claim to experience a deep soul connection because of a shared similar life path and shared pain, and sometimes even trauma. Because individuals are fundamentally like their “mirror souls”, they function like a spiritual mirror that reflects each other’s strengths, weakness, past traumas, and vulnerabilities.
Furthermore, this work will raise an awareness about humankind particularly our treatment of one another. There is a lack of depth, consciousness and understanding of inner connections, we might share with one another – everything ends on the surface. This work aims to make spiritual sensitivity a conscious choice – you will never know If our paths will cross again, and we don’t really know the depth of the spirits connecting.
