About

Ethiopia is a land like no other. This country has over the past 100 years transformed from a medieval Christian kingdom (where slavery was only abolished in 1942), to a teeming modern nation. Adam Riley has collated a fascinating series of photos covering various aspects of his birding adventures in Ethiopia. Adam’s talk covers subjects ranging from the proud tribes of the Lower Omo Valley who fiercely adhere to their traditions and the incredible monolithic churches of Lalibela, to the remarkable endemic birds and mammals that have evolved in this very special corner of Africa.
