The Makhelwane Festival is a 2 day celebration where we embrace the spirit of Makhelwane.
“Makhelwane” is a Nguni word that refers to one’s neighbour, but in African culture and context the term is deeper than that, the term refers to a community.
The event happens on a long road in the Mzimhlophe community were houses become restaurants, houses are turned into galleries, houses become boutiques, including live music, comedy, movie screenings and many more attractions.
