Shortly after the waste and garbage crisis in the country and more notably in the city of Johannesburg, we find two young men, uZibi (dirt) and uMshanelo (broom), cleaners both in profession and bloodline; offspring to a victim of the 2007 ‘Reitz Four’ incident at the University of Free State.
Now cleaners in the theatre uZibi and uMshanelo take it upon themselves to clean not only dirt and rubbish, but the futile and hopeless labour that is society.
Although their fate surmounted in scorn - a result of their past, uZibi and uMshanelo find peace recollecting and reminiscing about that same past.
This allows them to clean yesterday in its entirety, clean today, and clean tomorrow.
